Why people end up owing thousands

Because a car arrived the next day and nobody explained what they had signed.

How we work

The hire agreement is the whole issue

Credit hire exists for a sensible reason: a driver who was not at fault should not be without a car while liability is argued about. The problem is how it is sold. A vehicle turns up quickly, the paperwork is signed on a bonnet, and the driver believes it is a free courtesy car from the insurance.

It is not. It is a contract between the driver and the hire company, often at rates far above a retail rental, and recovery depends entirely on the claim succeeding. Where liability is disputed, or the driver is found partly at fault, or the rate is held to be unreasonable, the shortfall lands on the person who signed.

So the test of a company in this sector is simple: did they explain that before the vehicle arrived, in writing, and did they tell you that going through your own insurer was an option? We do both, we tell people when their own insurer is the better route, and we take no referral fee on injury claims because the law prohibits it.

Our principles

Three beliefs behind the method

Explain the liability first

In writing, before anything is signed.

Name the alternative

Your own insurer is often the safer route.

Your choice of repairer

Nobody can require you to use theirs.
